I had a major stroke 2 years ago. After months of rehab I was able to go home. I wanted to mark the fact that I was alive and starting to "get a life back".

I thought about getting my first tattoo. Ellen, my partner and care giver, wouldn't take me. After living with her for 30 years, I knew this was a strong no way! Because she loves me and wants me to be happy she suggested a loom instead. It would be great therapy for my weakened left side.
Here is my beautiful Ashford ridged heddel loom! And my first Table runner. I wove it with wool from a woman's co-op in Chama. NM. They do everything from raising the sheep, to gathering materials for natural dyes.

| My first class! I was so excited to be out and about! Even if I did have a gate belt on for security. And as usual Ellen was right about no tattoo! Love this loom. |

| I did it! My arm was tired, but I realized my love of fiber could go on!!!! |
 |
| My sister, Mary Jane, used her wool to make this amazing Fair Isle felted bag! |
 |
| We put the family into a wool winding frenzy. |
 |
| My second weaving for Mary Jane. |

| She got the table runner from me and roses from her DH on the same day. |
